Born in Oakland, CA, Anne Hege began her vocal studies with the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir.  Her study of choral music continued throughout high school with Oakland Youth Chorus’s touring ensemble, Vocal Motion.  Hege has sung with professional choirs including the Austin ProChorus and the San Francisco Chamber Singers (Volti SF).  She has recorded with Val Paradise, Jonathan Segel, Fred Frith, Cuatro Vientos, Celestial Mechanics, and Sideband.  She has been a featured soloist in the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts commission by Miya Masaoka and has premiered many of her compositions nationally and internationally. Hege has taught voice privately since 2004 and has worked on the voice faculty of Holy Names University and Mills College.
